What We Collect

• Email address: Only if you choose to sign up, get summaries emailed, or subscribe to updates.
• Contract metadata: Basic, non-personal information about your contract (like document length, type, or features you use) to improve our service.

That's it. We keep it minimal by design.

How We Handle Your Contract & Analysis

Before analysis, all personally identifiable information—names, addresses, emails, phone numbers—is automatically detected and replaced with role-based labels (e.g. "the Employee", "the Company"). AI analysis is performed on the redacted text only, and only the redacted version is stored. Your original identifying information is never persisted.

• View Saved Data: Every contract record includes a "View Saved Data" button that lets you see exactly what redacted data we hold. The data shown has already been through our automatic redaction process — personal names, addresses, emails, and phone numbers are replaced with role-based labels. If you spot anything that wasn't caught, you can make additional manual redactions directly from this view to remove any remaining sensitive information you'd prefer not to have stored.
• We don't profile you or run ads.
• We do not use your contract data for training or advertising.
• You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Your Rights below).

Third Parties

We use industry-trusted partners to help make Fineprint.coffee work:

• OpenAI: For AI-powered summaries.
• Anthropic: For AI-powered chat.
• Resend: To send summary emails or notifications (if you request them).
• Stripe: For secure payments (if you choose a paid plan).

They may process only the information needed to provide these services and are committed to strong privacy practices.

Your Rights

As a user—or just a visitor—you have rights:

• View & Redact: Use the "View Saved Data" button on any report to see exactly what we store. You can also make manual redactions to remove any additional information you don't want stored.
• Export: You can request an export of any data we hold about you.
• Delete: You can delete any contract record yourself — either from My Reports or from the View Saved Data panel on that contract's report page. You can also request deletion using your Contract ID. When a contract is deleted, all contract text, analysis content, and personal information are permanently removed. We retain only high-level, non-personal metadata (such as contract type and deletion date) in our deleted-contracts register for aggregate statistics.
• Unsubscribe: You can opt out of emails—each email includes an easy unsubscribe link.

GDPR Compliance

We comply with the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you're in the EU or EEA, you have specific rights (access, correction, deletion, restriction). We make it easy to use these rights—just contact us.

We use encryption, access controls, and deletion protocols to keep your information safe. We regularly review our practices to make sure your data doesn't end up where it shouldn't.
